•Z-MC (formerly known to some as MC Jonny Z) began to listen to the early sounds of Dancehall Reggae around the age of 12. He was fascinated by the bass heavy computerized rhythms and the fast , rhythmic flow of Patois lyrics riding the beat. While all his peers were listening to Hip Hop and Heavy Metal, young Z-MC was tuning into the sounds of Super Cat, Tiger, Admiral Bailey, Shabba Ranks and company. He began to pick apart the lyrics and at age 18 made his first trip to Jamaica, it made a huge impact on his life. Later in college he had his own radio show and was discovering many forms of dance music that had a ragga influence. Naturally when he first heard early Ragga/Jungle breakbeat he was hooked. He remembers saying to himself "this is my sound!". He realized that this music was coming from Europe, a place that was familiar to Z-MC who has roots in Sweden, and has travelled there as a youth. So begins the Saga of Z-MC who has MC'd for DJs like Afrika Bambaata, Bryan Gee, DB, Adam F, Teebee, Shy FX, DJ SS, Soulslinger, Dara, AK1200, Randall, Mickey Finn, Aphrodite, and many more. His MCing has taken him from the Volcanic Hot Springs of Iceland (Rejkavik Music Festival 2000) to deep in the Amazon Rainforest (Ecodrive 1.0, Brazil). |

A people’s DJ, Kyle has been known to play every size of event. Whether he’s opening a full-scale concert or rockin’ the basement at a house party, he’ll always drop the cuts that make the room shake.
